The US Sailing Multihull Council survey for the US Multihull Championship for the Hobie Alter Trophy (aka the Alter Cup) is now closed.  My sincere thanks to all multihull sailors who took the time to participate.

As a reminder, the leadership of US Sailing wants to transform the US Multihull Championship into the most relevant multihull event in the United States, one that will attract new and upcoming sailors, who will form the nucleus of future US Olympic sailors.

We conducted the survey in response to a question posed directly to me by Jack Gierhart, Executive Director of US Sailing, “What do the multihull sailors want?”

Over 200 multihull sailors responded to the survey. The Multihull Council is currently in the process of compiling these results and preparing a long-term plan for the future of this event, for Jack and the Multihull Championship Committee to consider.

Our plan, and a full summary of the survey results, will be published here. The planned timeline is to coincide with the announcement of a 2012 event, as has been posted here: http://championships.ussailing.org/Adult/USMHChampionship.htm

Thank you again for your time with the survey, and for your continued commitment to growing multihull sailing in the USA.
